Carrying hazardous materials in a transport truck requires extreme care and forethought. This course helps shippers and drivers understand hazard identification and provides them with the appropriate reference tools. We’ll discuss the importance of appropriate packaging and accurate labelling of hazardous materials, along with proper paperwork. You’ll learn where to look for references to identify particular hazardous materials. The course includes specific details about substances considered hazardous by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that should be labelled accordingly.

This course is the second in our five-part Department of Transportation (DOT) series, and has been designed to follow US Federal DOT hazardous materials regulations, Title 49 CFR, Parts 172 through 173.
